When We Have To Step Away From The Crowd (Part 2)

Continued from

God wants to be reflected in us.  When He is reflected in us, others experience the glory of His Presence as they come into contact with us.  As this happens opportunities are created for us to minister to others by praying for them, by telling them about the good news of Jesus or sowing into their lives.

There are some people who love the anonymity of the crowd.  At church during a time of warfare prayer for example, they will join the roar of the lions, sing about what they will do to the enemy, trample him under their feet etc.

Yet when they go home, and that same enemy uses some device against them, the roar sounds more like a mewling kitten. They become so paralyzed with fear that they can barely squeak out the tiniest meow.

We cling to the crowd because we do not want to stand out.  This, brothers and sisters is rooted in fear. In Revelation we are shown that doubters (those who fear) will be cast into the lake of fire.  Sometimes we think that if we do not stand out, the devil cannot have any quarrel with us and will leave us alone.  As a result, we resist the refining process with all our might. NEWS FLASH!! By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour the light is already shining on us. Yes, that’s right we are sticking out like sore thumbs. Therefore since the devil was unable to stop your salvation experience, his next strategy is to make you as ineffective as possible.

When Christians are ineffective, it slows the growth of the Kingdom of God.  The harvest is lacking. There is no fruit to reap.  If you left your good farmland in the hands of a manager and at the appointed time when you are expecting a bumper crop, you find that your farm was poorly managed, what would be your response?
