The Trajectory of Healing & Victory

The cycle of pain, of hurting people who hurt people, can only be broken when someone decides, ” I will not do to others, that which had been done to me”. When this decision is taken, it moves us from an unhealthy orbit and places us on a trajectory of healing and victory.

Deuteronomy 2:3

3‘You have circled this mountain long enough. Now turn north, ’

In this scripture, God is telling Moses that the walking around in the wilderness has happened long enough.  In the same way, God calls us to seek to leave the orbit of evil.  To leave an orbit requires a deliberate thrusting forth in a different direction.  It requires effort, energy, focus and no looking back.  When we make the conscious effort to receive healing, when we decide that this sore is beyond stink and needs attention, we have begun our  thrust to break out of the evil orbit.

Escape Velocity

The escape velocity is the speed a spaceship needs to be traveling to break free of the gravity of the planet that it wants to leave. You remain in orbit when there is an equal balance of pull on either side, otherwise you will plunge into that which has the greater gravity.  The vessel also has to be going at a certain speed to either escape the gravitational pull or circle the planet in question. Let’s break this down.

To remain in orbit between the Kingdom of Darkness and the Kingdom of Heaven means that there is a pull on either side that causes us to be indecisive about choosing a side.  However a decision and action from that decision will cause us to break out of orbit and choose a specific direction.  Where wounds are concerned, we have to (a) make a decision that this wound needs looking after and (b) do what is necessary to bring healing to the wound.

To break free of an orbit, a spaceship has to employ the use of its propulsion system to change its trajectory.  Our  propulsion system begins with our decision to fix the problem. Having done that, we must make sure that we do ALL that is necessary to bring about healing.  Every decision that we make from that point on must move us in a forward direction.

If you had a sore and it began to heal, would you go picking off the scab before it falls off?  We have to be careful that we do not allow ourselves to put our thrusters in reverse.  This can happen with unforgiveness, bitterness, rage, unkindness, offense.  Because these responses are what we had become used to, we have to purpose to respond differently until it becomes our normal way of behaving.  This is how you change generations of living in our abomination.  Deliberately replace wrong thinking and response with right thinking and live a live that can stand up to the scrutiny of the mirror of the Word.

The healed life is the victorious life in Christ Jesus.
