Intimacy – Not for Every “body”

Intimacy_-_not_for_everyone[1]Sex is the ultimate form of Intimacy.  It involves a union of spirit and body.  There is really no such thing as sex being just a chemical reaction.  Indeed 1 Corinthians 6:16 states that if one fornicates with a harlot he has become one with her.  The Bible also says that fornication is the only sin committed against the body. Picture this, would you go into a sanctuary, squat and defecate in the temple?  Fornication is pretty much the same thing, only this time in the living temple of God – you.

Sex is more than just a physical thing.
It is something God created as a form of worship  between a man and a woman on the altar of marriage.  In the scripture of Genesis, the word yada is used for the Word “knew” as in Adam knew Eve and begat Cain.  That Word is also used for praise and adoration in various parts of the Bible.

The issue of faithfulness is very important in a relationship. Unfaithfulness is a type of violation often seen as unforgivable.  As a matter of fact whenever Israel and Judah turned from serving God, their unfaithfulness was often referred to as whoredom, idolatry or formication.
But isn’t that how we are with God?  He desires our faithfulness. He is always faithful, He never changes. Yet even when we are unfaithful, He is waiting with open arms for us to return and is very willing to forgive us. Very much like the Father in the parable of the Prodigal Son, He is so on the lookout for our return, that He runs to meet us halfway.
His love never changes, and is the same as He was yesterday and will be the same tomorrow.
